Entertainment sector transformation stimulates economic activity and job creation statewide

Across film, music, live performance, software development and digital media, Louisiana’s entertainment ecosystem is increasingly dynamic and thriving. Business incentives like the Motion Picture Production Program set the stage for attracting  industry investment. A statewide cast of creatives, skilled technical workers, state-of-the-art studios, world-class concert venues and strategic investments in higher education and entertainment workforce grants ensure that the show will go on in Louisiana.
Acclaimed Entertainment Industry Thrives

Louisiana’s groundbreaking Motion Picture Production Program gives a tax credit of up to 40% and covers a portion of the costs for a range of needs, including equipment rentals and cast and crew salaries for work performed in Louisiana. Since its inception the state has certified over $9 billion in direct in-state spending, and according to the most recent analysis from 2021, $6.12 is generated for every $1 in credit issued.
